Alternate take of a frosty spring scene just north of the Old Vert Homestead, near Kirriemuir, Alberta, but with textures added. I was searching for horses in the fog without luck. The fog lifted leaving frost kissed trees, fences, and grass behind.
I'm still trying to convince myself that this image isn't a case of me trying to pimp up a mediocre composition, so it may not stay up for long.

Everyone is probably looking at the blood red paint texture and going WTF? Drop it as a new layer in PS. Press CTRL-U to bring up the saturation dialogue. Slide saturation to zero. Click OK. Now set blend mode to soft light, hard light, overlay, or whatever else tickles your fancy. The red paint winds up looking more like seeing your image through a dirty, gritty window. Always remember that you can use the texture without being forced to use the colour it came in.

Smart. Personally I like the image because the composition works. You've taken a seen I'd walk by and pulled the elements together.
